Qualifying Conditions

The proposed bill named the North Carolina Compassionate Care Act lists the following as qualifying conditions that can get North Carolina patients approved for a marijuana card.

Below is a list of the medical conditions that can qualify you for a medical marijuana card in North Carolina.

  • Cancer

  • Epilepsy

  • HIV/AIDS

  • Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)

  • Crohn’s disease

  • sickle cell anemia

  • Parkinson’s disease

  • post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

  • multiple sclerosis

  • cachexia or wasting syndrome

  • severe or persistent nausea (for bedridden or hospice patients)

  • terminal illness when patients life expectancy is less than six months

  • Any other serious medical condition or its treatment added by the North Carolina Medical Cannabis Advisory Board
